Frequently asked questions
Booking Questions
Do you have a refund policy?
After you finalise the booking and make a payment your place on the course is secure. From this point, should you wish to cancel your booking, the cancellation terms and conditions apply. We ask you to understand that we make our commitments to coaches and venues long in advance, which are both subject to SixBySix signing up to terms and conditions. To protect the future quality of the courses, the following conditions apply.
~ If you give us more than 3 months notice, we will offer a full refund minus a 10% admin fee
~ If you give us between 1 and 3 months’ notice, we will offer a 50% refund
~ If you give us less than 1 months’ notice you will forfeit the entire course fees
~ If the participant fails to attend the course, the course fee will also be forfeited.
Our aim with all our courses is to provide the best coaches in great coaching ratios, using lovely facilities. We carefully monitor the number of athletes who join us to ensure that this is what we offer and always bring in more coaches to keep ratios at a performance level. To ensure that the very best coaches want to come and work with us time and time again, we do not pull out on our commitments to them, once we have offered them the opportunity to work with us. As such, it is not always possible to make a refund. We hope by doing this we protect the future quality of all our courses and experiences of your athletes.
What happens if the weather isn't great for my course?
Living in the UK, we accept that sometimes (often) it isn’t glorious sunshine when
we play. Should the weather not be perfect, we will still continue to run the course, but redress the balance of inside, outside, theory and practical coaching. Please ensure that your athlete has appropriate clothing based on the weather, as this will help us make the most of the day, regardless of the weather. It will be at the coaches discretion whether it is unsafe to be outdoors, and we will always stop playing in the event of lightning. Should we deem it not to be safe to run the course as a result of the weather and therefore have to cancel, we will offer participants a full refund
Can I bring my phone?
Yes, but we take no responsibility for anything you bring with you. It often isn't possible to lock valuables away securely, and we are sometimes not the only group in a venue
Can I book on a course for a different age than advertised?
This question relates to an example such as "my daughter is in year 8, please can we book her onto a course that is advertised for year 9s"
Our aim on all of our courses is to ensure that every student comes away feeling appropriately challenged and therefore leaves feeling tired, but inspired by their sport. Getting this right is based not only on their individual ability, but the ability of the rest of the group - something we don’t know until the day. For this reason, we use school years as our way of structuring the courses.
Our expert coaching team will ensure each individual is pushed to perform at their capacity and stretch each player to help them grow. If it is possible and appropriate, we, at our discretion, sometimes look to move athletes into other groups on the day. We do however ask for your understanding here as this is a delicate art, not a science.
We understand that children's identities at this age is heavily linked to their school year, and therefore moving them ‘up’, even if they are talented has the risk that they do not bond with the rest of the group as well as they might in their original group. We must also consider the effect of moving one person, and not other people in a similar situation in a similar year. For this reason, we ask people to book into the course designed for her age group.
Lacrosse Questions
Do I need to play in a certain team to join your course?
We are more interested in your attitude than your current skills. We run 'performance focussed' courses. This means we are interested in helping you improve your performance, but that doesnt' matter whether you would like to play more effectively in your team, strive to get to the next team, or have set your sights on putting on an England shirt one day. We are lucky enough to have supported people who fit into all of these categories over the years.
What clothing do I need to wear?
You need to bring clothes appropriate to the weather (shorts in the summer, tracksuits / skins in the winter, waterproofs etc) and a change of clothes incase it rains.
Should I wear my school kit?
We actually love it when you don't. We work hard to try to break down barriers so athletes meet lots of new people. School kit is so identifiable, that sometimes it can hinder this. That said, if you really enjoy playing in it, we don't mind!
What equipment do I need to bring on a lacrosse course?
A STICK
Everyone needs one. If you don't have one, and would like some advice as to where to get one, please get in touch. We unfortunatley do not have a stock that people can borrow.
A MOUTHGUARD
They are mandatory for the sport of lacrosse, and we can't let people play witout one. Should you need some advice about them, please get in touch
GOGGLES
According to the governing body, these are 'hightly recommended, but not mandatory'. We follow this line
BOOTS
If the ground is slippy and we are outside we recommend boots, as they can help to reduce the risk of injuries. These can be any studded boots
TRAINERS
If we end up doing bits and pieces inside, it is important to have a clean pair to wear
Tennis Questions
What equipment do I need to bring on a tennis course?
A RACKET
Everyone needs one. If you don't have one, and would like some advice as to where to get one, please get in touch. We unfortunatley do not have a stock that people can borrow.
COMFORTABLE CLOTHING
We never know what the weather will be doing, so please bring clothing appropriate to the time of year and the conditions. It is always nice to have a change of clothes if it is going to be wet, a waterproof, and lots of layers to keep warm. In the summer, please bring sun cream and a sun hat with you.
